This rim of this small bowl is highlighted with a bright yellow slip. The surface is carved with parallel lines running down the sides of the bowl. The combination of indigo and black slips create a mottled and rustic surface. After bisque firing Akio applies colored slips and then glazes the pieces with translucent matte glaze. Beautiful to see and incredible to hold.
