This soba cup is simple and elegant. The rim is decorated with a delicate black slip line and the sides are carved with parallel lines. The surface is decorated with alternating stripes of indigo, white and black slip. After bisque firing Akio applies colored slips and then glazes the pieces with translucent matte glaze. Beautiful to see and incredible to hold.
